Sick today. Text from my boyfriend.

If I was at the apartment with you I would be doing everything I could to take care of you. I feel awful that I can’t do anything. All I want to do is bring you McDonalds, tuck you in under a bunch of blankets, and give you a kiss on the forehead. I’m sorry I cant be there for you. Please stay strong and only do something other than rest when you absolutely have to.

Because my boyfriend is in the military he is away from home often. We make the best of the time we have together, and help each other get through the times apart. There are times when I get really sad and depressed because I miss him. It’s hard being apart. At these times, we exchange words of encouragement. When I’m down he comforts me, he reminds me of the fun activities we will do when he comes home, he tells me that there’s only a year left of school, and he makes me laugh; he always knows how. At the end of these phone calls he leaves me laughing, tells me he loves me and always says, “Stay strong”.

This is my reminder to stay strong for him, for me, and for us both.

Favorite Part of Vacation

As we were driving to the airport at the end of our vacation, I asked my boyfriend what his favorite part of vacation was. We did lots of cool things like went to Sea World, the Hoover Dam, Red Rock national park, collecting poker chips from 32 casinos, Helicopter ride over the Las Vegas strip, one of the many dinners we had. He turned and without hesitation said “My favorite part was waking up next to you everyday.” My heart literally melted. That was my favorite part as well.
